Ode in Darkness

Ode in Darkness (fictional)

Churches have empty parking lots
I sit in one, waiting for the light to
turn-off

Waiting for God to sleep.
His eyes turn away
In that darkness…

I see you die.

Suffocating in your sleep,
no fingers to wake you up.
No hands shaking breath

back into your lungs.

I never loved sleep apnea
so much, no fingerprints
for this way you kick
the coil is justice enough.
